USF network (HSCNet) account request

Epic/GE account request

Following HSCNet account creation, please complete the Epic/GE Security Access and Use Agreement form (available on the downloadable forms site) and send to epicsupport@health.usf.edu.

  • Forms must be signed by both a department leader and the requestee.   
  • For clinicians, please include certification or license numbers. Missing license numbers are a common cause of account creation delays.
  • IRB information is required for research-related account requests/  
  • Accounts are generally available within 3 business days after all requirements have been completed

Professional Integrity & Compliance training 

The following training is required for access to Epic and/or GE.

  1. Go to http://learn.health.usf.edu/
  2. Login with your USF Health username and password.
  3. Under Course Categories, click on USF Health Training.
  4. Click on the USF Health Professional Integrity & Compliance (2016-2017) course link.
  5. Click the Enroll me button.  
    You will be enrolled in the course and the course home page will appear.

The following modules are required:

  1.  Medicare Parts C and D General Compliance
  2.  Combating Medicare Parts C and D Fraud, Waste, and Abuse
  3.  Professional Integrity Program Handbook
  4.  HIPAA Privacy at USF Health
  5.  Computer & Information Security

To launch the modules: Click the module title and Enter button

Epic/GE Training  

Scheduled classroom training

Epic and/or GE training is required(view training class calendar & course catalog). Schedule training here, making sure to create a new training ticket for each trainee. Scheduled training is not required for view only access, see Online training (view only requests).

In general, Epic and GE accounts will not be activated until training has been completed. Provisional 30 day access may be approved for new physicians (not staff) prior to their completing training. Please request provisional access in the "Description" field of the training request. Provisional security requests still require that all necessary forms and online training (e.g., HIPAA) be completed before access to Epic will be granted.

Please complete Epic eLearnings prior to attending class:

  • Go to learn.health.usf.edu.
  • Login with USF Health username and password.
  • Click on USF Health Training.
  • Click on Epic Training.
  • Click Enroll me.

Scroll down and expand the appropriate class.
The eLearnings and all documentation will display.

Click on eLearnings name to launch.

For best results, use FireFox or Chrome browsers (Internet Explorer is not preferred). You may be prompted to allow pop-ups based on your browser settings.

Online training (view only requests)

Self-paced online training is available for view only Epic account requests (no scheduled training required):

  • Go to http://learn.health.usf.edu/.
  • Login with your USF Health username and password.
  • Click on USF Health Training.
  • Click on Epic Training.
  • Click Enroll me.

Scroll down and expand the Epic View Only Class. 
The required and recommended eLearnings will display.

Click on eLearnings name to launch.

Please notify your Supervisor when completed. Supervisors--please respond to the account request ticket noting that training is complete.
