Information Session Schedule

What is an Information Session?  A one-hour information session about our nursing programs, which is helpful prior to the application process.

Who should attend?  All prospective students.  


Please Note the Following:

 

 HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SESSION
Veteran to BS (V-CARE)

Upper Division

Second Degree

RN-BSN

Master's Degree

Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA)

> Doctorate of Nursing Practice

> PhD Program in Nursing Science

Have medic or corpsman training -- service members/veterans

Don't have a bachelor's degree

Have a prior bachelor's degree in any fieldHave an ASN

If you are a current military service member or veteran interested in receiving your bachelor's degree in nursing, please attend the Veteran to BS (V-CARE) information session. This session covers information specific to the Veteran to BS program (aka V-CARE) for service members and veterans with medical training experience as medics or corpsmen.

If you are interested in receiving a bachelor’s degree in nursing and you meet the following criteria:

  • don't have a bachelor's degree
  • not a nurse, medic or corpsman

Please attend the information session for the Upper Division Program. The Upper Division Nursing program is meant for students achieving their first bachelor's degree and desire a BS.

If you are interested in receiving a bachelor’s degree in nursing and you meet the following criteria:

  • have a bachelor’s degree in another field
  • not a nurse, medic or corpsman

Please attend the information session for the Second Degree Program. The Second Degree Nursing program is meant for students achieving their second bachelors degree and desire a BS.

If you currently hold a RN license (associate degree) only and are interested in receiving a bachelor’s degree in nursing, please attend the RN Information Session. Information on the RN to BS program will be covered in these sessions.If you are interested in receiving your master’s degree in nursing and currently have a bachelor’s degree in nursing or another field, please attend the information session titled Graduate Programs Information Session. This session covers information on all master’s programs.If you are interested in information about our Nurse Anesthesia Concentration (aka CRNA), please attend the Graduate Programs Information Session. Information on the CRNA program will be covered in these sessions.

If you are interested in receiving a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) or a Doctorate of Philosophy in Nursing Science (PhD) and currently have your bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing, please attend the Graduate Programs Information Session. During the session we will review admission requirements, application procedures, and program information. There will also be a Q & A session afterwards for more specific questions.

(info) If you're unsure about which session to attend, please feel free to contact the College of Nursing Student Affairs Office at 813-974-2191 prior to arriving.

(info) In case of inclement weather, the College of Nursing will adhere to the University of South Florida’s schedule. If the university closes due to inclement weather, the information will be publicly available on the university's website and various local media outlets.

 Veteran to BS (V-CARE)

This information session is for current service members or veterans who have medical training experience as a military medic or corpsmen and are interested in earning a bachelor's degree in nursing.

The information session has been pre-recorded for your convenience. We understand that military personnel are stationed all over the world and might have trouble meeting at a particular time for an information session.

 Graduate Programs Information Session

For students who are already nurses with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing (or another field), and are interested in earning a Master of Science in nursing (MS), Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) or a Doctorate of Philosophy in nursing science (PhD). We will discuss admission criteria, program curricula and the application process for each graduate program and concentration. Our previously offered RN-to-MS bridge program, for students with an associate degree in nursing, is currently on hold.

 CRNA Information Session

For students who have a bachelor’s degree in nursing and are interested in the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist program.

 PRIOR TO ARRIVING (Important Information)
Time Allotment:Allow 20-30 minutes to find a parking space and walk to the College of Nursing building.
Parking Pass Required:You must obtain a Visitor/Daily Permit to park. The Parking Services website has a variety of options available; click here to purchase online and see other available options.
Where to Park:Park in any visitor parking lot close to the College of Nursing building.  There is a Self-Pay hourly parking lot adjacent to parking Lot 33, see the section highlighted in yellow and marked by a purple asterisk on the USF Visitor Map.
MDN Building Location:Click here for maps and directions to the College of Nursing. 
Finding the Room Location:Look for the posted arrow signs to the room location or see the touch screen kiosks located at two of our main entrances. See also our building maps for the first floor and second floor to assist you to find the room location.
Arrive on Time:Sessions do not require an appointment, but they do begin promptly at the posted time.

 PRE-ADMISSION WALK-IN ADVISING

Walk-in Advising for Undergraduates Only

Our undergraduate admissions advisor is now available to help students with questions regarding the admissions and application process via walk-in appointments.  

Note: Appointments will not include course advising, please schedule an appointment with your major academic advisor for help planning courses for future semesters at USF.
